Behind Emma & Chris
Emma & Chris – The Story of Our Love began with something very personal: a story that had actually been lived.
It was never originally meant to become a novel. It began with memories, conversations, messages, and moments that had stayed with us long after they were over. Writing them down was a way of holding on to them.
Somewhere along the way, those memories became a story.
The books are inspired by real experiences, but they are not a documentary account of two lives. Names, places, circumstances, timelines, and individual details have been changed, combined, or fictionalized. Emma and Chris are literary characters, even though much of what they feel, experience, and struggle with has its roots in reality.
What Remained
The details could change. The emotional truth could not.
The uncertainty of getting close to someone. The fear of losing them. Jealousy, trust, mistakes, tenderness, anger, longing, and those ordinary moments that sometimes stay with us longer than the dramatic ones.
Those were the things worth preserving.
Not because this is a perfect love story. It isn't.
It is the story of two people who made choices, hurt each other, changed, moved on, looked back, and discovered that some connections leave traces long after life has taken another direction.
Why Tell It?
Because some stories change when we remember them.
A message that once seemed unimportant can become the beginning of everything. A moment that felt unbearable can look different years later. And sometimes only distance reveals what a particular person or period of our lives really meant.
Writing Emma & Chris became a way of returning to those moments with the perspective that only time can give.
Not to rewrite what happened.
But to tell the story it became.
Inspired by a true
story.
Fictionalized for the page.
Rooted in what was felt.
